Geo Arbores

Geo Arbores is a project for developing tools and libraries for the opensouce collaborative GIS OpenJUMP. Plugins and functionalities which are developed (or modified) by Geo Arebores project will be integrated into OpenJUMP main project, included source code
This site is mantained by Giuseppe Aruta, member of development teem of OpenJUMP.

What is OpenJUMP?

• Openjump is an open source Geographic Information System (GIS) written in the Java programming language and it is platform indipendent: it can work with Linux, MacOSX, Microsoft Windows and any Operation System that supports Java.
• It opens a large number of vector files, including proprietary formats like ESRI Shapefiles, Autocadk DXF or open format like GML, OpenJUMP JML, DXF, CSV or WKT.
• It opens the main raster file format: GeoTIFF, Arc/Info ASCII and Binary Grid and image (PNG, GIF, JPG, JP2000). GeoArbores raster tools plugin expand OpenJUMP capabilities to inport many other raster formats, included multiband ENVI bil, bip and bsq interleaved formats.
• It supports OCG standards like Web Map Service (WMS) e Web Feature Service (WFS) and the connection to external datastore layers like PostGIS, MySQL, SpatialLite, MariaDB and Oracle.
• It has an impressive vector editing, drawing and query capability: explore the OpenJUMP Online User Manual to see the functionalities and can work with raster data thanks to external plugins like Sextante, OpenKLem and Geo Arbores Raster Tools ([Geo Arbores Raster Tools]), which cover many aspects of morphometric and hydraulic analysis.
• It is easy to install: download and extract the zip file - the entire software included plugins resize in less then 200 Mb
  It is distributed under GNU General Public Licence and it is developed and maintained by a community of programmers and users around the World.

Interpolation tools

A plugin to interpolate points features to obtain a raster layer.

Measure toolbox

A set of tools to compute measurements of elements (coordinates, length and area). Option to convert metric unit (for instance foot to meter) and to measure elements displayed in geographic coordinate system.
This plugin has been added to OpenJUMP PLUS 1.16.

Cad Tools

A set of CAD like tools partially ported from Kosmo SAIG project (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosmo) and tools for drawing blocks or text.
This plugin has been added to OpenJUMP PLUS 1.16.

Color chooser

A set of tools to change colors of vector elements (points, linestring and polygon). Ported from the legacy GIS SkyJUMP, a clone of original JUMP GIS.
This plugin has been added to OpenJUMP PLUS 1.16.

Vertex symbology

An improved version of OpenJUMP vertex symbology plugin (CadPlann) which allows to define classified symbology on vertex and linestring.

ImageJ connector

This plugin allows to open a selected raster layer directly into ImageJ , a Java-based image processing program (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ImageJ). This allows to operate further analisys on the raster.
