Hi HTH
In the Manual it allueds to B2Bua UpperRegistration as ideal if you are
using several OSBC. Is this the door way between OSBC and Could you also
use Relay Route?
In a situation where you have the 1st OSBC x.x.x.239 used only for phone
registrations and NO B2Bua or Relay Route configured.
A phone configured it's Sip Server == sipX x.x.x.240 and OutBoundProxy=2nd
OSBC x.x.x.239.
Here are some possiblities: A Call coming from a Telco/PSTN/ITSP or a Call
from the Internet going to a Telco/PSTN/ITSP. All are DID's (10 digits) and
all DID are surplied to us by the Telco/PSTN/ITSP == x.x.x.190.
The call from the Internet first:
Pick up phone and dial, it should contacts the OSBC/OutBoundProry == OBP ==
ipaddr is x.x.x.239 and it's B2BuaUpperRegistraion to pointing to the SIP
Server == sipX's == x.x.x.240 Dial plan gateway which is pointing to the 2nd
OSBC x.x.x.24 and Telco/PSTN/ITSP: x.x.x.190
sipX dial plan and the sip packets are directed to a the sipx Sip
Trunk/Gateway passing x.x.x.190/x.x.x.241 the 2nd OSBC box which may or may
not be using the new Sip Trunk route Feature.
The call from the Telco/PSTN/ITSP: x.x.x.190 sends the Sip Packet to
x.x.x.241
But the phone number is not known to it's registration because it did not
register the phone. The 1st OSBC x.x.x.239 did. So How does the 2nd OSBC
deal with the phone that was registered on the 1st OSBC?

Hi
Main Trunk and SIP Trunk can't have the same ipaddress:port according to the
web admin OSBC Transport Status log. In the the General Parameter i have
set the interface to the first Active NIC ipaddress:port x.x.x.241:5060 (box
with two NIC) this also disables as far as OSBC is concerned the Main Trunks
localhost 127.0.0.1 address
Main Trunk x.x.x.241:5060
SIP Trunk x.x.x.241:5060 error already in uses x.x.x.241:5060
What should i do to remove this confick?
If i change the Main Trunk's port to 9000 would this screw up Sip transport?
And what else would i need to change to get this to work?

Hi HTH
Could you publish your sipx network design. Just the top level if this is
to much to ask?
I am about to set up a third OSBC. Obvious to say can't find a howto for
this magic.

Merry Christmas Thank you I started putting a second one together this morning just for registra of phones. Do these SBC need to be aware of each other in some combination? {noformat}Warren,
Yes, you are correct in concluding that you would need two OSBC
instances in the scenario you laid out. The instance that you use for
SIP trunking to face your ITSP should not be the same instance that you
are using for NAT traversal of SIP UAs using upper registration to SIPX.
In fact, it may even be necessary for you to have 3 instances of OSBC if
you need to support DID providers that do not comply with SIP REFER.
As you may know, calls transferred from the SIPX auto-attendant are
referred to the relevant UA. Since many ITSP do not honor the REFER
message, we have found it necessary to run a dedicated OSBC instance as
a media anchor to shield the ITSP from the referred calls.

Hi Joegen
In SBCCallHandler::SBCCallHandler.cxx
In Method == void SBCCallHandler::OnOutgoingCall()
/// check if we are suppose to use the sip trunk
B2BRoutingInterface::B2BRouteList routeList = connection.GetRoutes();
if( routeList.GetSize() > 0 )
{
This does not exist == ***** B2BRoutingInterface::B2BRouteList **** !!
Where is it in lastest CVS?

I perform ulimit -n 32000 prior to the OpenSBC restart and the same issues occur . I think that is the file handlers described in the OSBC manual. You reference rlimit? Where would the core files be located if a core dump happens? |

Hi All I'm stilll fairly new to SBC thinking and came across and publication that is making the distrinction. Is openSBC following in the foot steps of Peering Edge or Access Edge SBC's. Further, asking because i have run into a situation that make me think i may in fact need two SBC's to get sipX to work. One SBC to register phones (sipX side) and the Second SBC to deal with (ITSPside Peering) because using one (1) SBC i can register phones using B2BuaUpperRegistration but refuses to allow outbound calls. SBC keeps routing calls back to the sipX. Has anyone run into this problem? Has anyone try setting up two (2) SBC's in the fashion i am suggesting? Warren Kreckler |

I want to make note that I first started with the windows zip download. I changed to the CVS downloads after reading more about the app. The tray app isn't active in the CVS version. Thanks again, Bill |

Hi Joegen I put tracing code into SBCCallHandling.cxx in the OnOutgoingCalls and the if (routeList.GetSize) is never entered even thought have Sip Trunk Config set with and xml file. In the Web admin/ sip trunk registration is empty and the B2Bua has a route with sip-trunk=true being used. I noted this behavior over the last 48 hr. but this was working all week It began happening about 15 reboots ago. I laught at the way i messure time. Is there some flag or something that is not getting cleared. One point maybe of interest and don't know if it's related. When i originally installed the OSBC i had two active NIC running and later shut down one permently because i down need private access to sipX because OSBC and sipX both are now in the public ip space. Could this somehow causing a routing problem for SiP Trunking? Warren Kreckler |

Hi Joegen There are two files in the registry after i reboot the OSBC box and confirmed by the log. When i reboot the box and look at the registration from the web admin it only displays the last item and not both. I have to power down and up the phone for the registration page to show both. Even thought the first one come up in web admin any attempts to make an inbound call fails until i reboot the phone and after the web admin displays both lines. I think registration hi-jacking record in the registry folder is not working on a reboot. Warren Kreckler ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joegen E. Yes, Package SUNWgccruntime installs /usr/sfw/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.3 amongst others. Any other idea ? It compiles fine on Linux I suppose ? Maybe another include file is missing for solaris platform to define stl maps types ? Thanks On Dec 20, 2007 8:44 PM, Joegen E. This is a feature in OpenSBC that remembers previous registrations that were active before it was shutdown either through a restart or a crash. The cash folder is in opensbc_dir/registry. sales@ER wrote: > Hi Joegen > > I am seeing **** Contact Recovery ***** at the top of a brand new log. I > have not seen this before in pass logs. {noformat}Resend: {noformat}{noformat}1. Did you increase the number of file handles per process (rlimit)?
Let's eliminate the possibility that you are just hitting the 1024 file
handle limit per process.
2. If its crashing, then it is highly probable that a back-traceable
core file can be generated. If possible, enable core dumps and perform
a back-trace on the core file and send it to the forum.{noformat}

OpenSBC should be able to bridge the RTP. At least that is the intended behavior. Are you saying that OpenSBC RTP stream uses the private interface for both the caller and the media server? You may try to enable iproute in OpenSBC and see if it solves the problem for you. To do this, do a make clean on both OpenSBC and OpenSIPStack and configure the stack with --enable-gpllibs switch ./configure --enable-gpllibs This shoul tell OpenSIPStack to use iproute to determine the best interface to use. In Windows, its in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/opensipstack.org registry folder In Unix it's in $(HOME)/.pwlib_config/opensbc.ini (don't miss the dot "." ) . You can also use a custom ini file via the command line opensbc -d -p mypidfile.txt -i /universe/milkyway/solarsystem/earth/my_own_ini.ini HTH Joegen |

Changes to B2BUAConnection.h in revision 1.70 is giving me following
errors when compiling CVS opensbc:

Hi I am experiencing something random. One a fresh installed box. with sip-trunk set with an *.xml configured the Web admin does not see the registration the last few starts and stops. But has in the pass. I was looking at SBCCallHandler::OnOutgoingCall and i can see the test for the sip-trunk support/routeList(). Without tracking the entire track can someone tell me what triggers the registration? In both B2BUA and Relay routes i have used [] sip:ISTP;sip-trunk=true. Do this trigger the registration or lack there of? Does OSBC contact the trunk provider early in OSBC boot strapping? Warren Kreckler |

Hi Joegen
In this instance i am dealing with an ITSP that requires the From to be
*@192.159.100.100 and not *@themaninthemiddle.com . I want to hardwire it
for now. I was speaking to a vendor of SBC hardware who told me in all the
SBC's he is aware of you can make this charge in there admin interface.
Shouldn't openSBC offer the same basic funtionality, right out of the gate?
This is an increasing requirement from some ITSP when dealing with
peer-to-peer security.
Thanks for the info. I was seriously thinking that i could make a hardwire
change in SBCSIPTrunkRoutingHandler.cxx
BOOL SBCSIPTrunkRoutingHandler::B2BRouteCall(
B2BUAConnection & connection,
SIPMessage & invite,
BOOL /*ignoreRegistrations*/
)
Just for my info. Could i make the hardwiring here ==
connection.AddRoute( routeURI ); ??
