Hello I got a opensbc listening on it's local ip address (192.168.1.102). How do I make opensbc handle my domain (let's say "domain.com")? Regards, Jonas |

Hi are you the same -guest- that help me out with the win32 exception question I had? If so or not, thanks. Yes, I am up to learning , and as quickly as possible , how to use the built in media server IVR of OpenSBC. However, I am a 3 day OpenSBC experience user and do need a bit of jump starter help. Ok , I dialed 5000 at the OpenSBC and I see there is an IVR asking for security code. I will work on it from there and post as needed. Should I post on the OpenSBC area? Thanks |

If you are really up to the challenge, just send in your code related questions. There are several members of this list who have developed their own IVR apps using OpenSBC. I am sure they are willing to pitch in and help you out. For starters, copy the prompts folder into the same directory as your exe, dial 5000 and trace through SBCIVRHandler.cxx > > Thanks for helping. > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft > Defy all challenges. Hi Folks, I wonder if anyone can tell me if and how I can use the OpenSBC Media IVR to develop my own call control and services. Or am I just confused. The only docs I have are the set up docs for the OpenSBC itself. Are there a set of developer docs for application creation using the IVR ? Thanks for helping. |

Joegen , Thanks for the reply . I am aware of this tool and similar. What I was looking for is a set of test cases themselves those could be executed on OpenSBC. Also, is there any feature list documented for OpenSBC ? Thanks and warm regards CS -----Original Message----- From: ope...@li... [mailto:ope...@li...] On Behalf Of Joegen E. Thanks. I installed Visual Studio 2008 Pro and also downloaded the new opensbc and opensip. Compiled everything , what a monster lol, and I had to hand fix a few link issues with VS 2008 but after all was done, OpenSBC ran like I was hoping. Thanks. I am thinking that the binaries should be redone and posted though. |

Since there isn't much information to work with except OpenSBC crashing on receipt of first packet, I can only guess. However, since you say its OSSPhone, that you used to register, it's definitely not an interoperability issue as well. By process of elimination, I can say that this is an incompatibility issue in the OS libraries installed in your box and the ones OpenSBC was originally compiled with. I am suggesting that you just compile OpenSBC from source instead of using the installer. OpenSBC compiles well in visual studio 2005 Express which is free. Lastly, there have been a lot of development going on since version 1.1.4. I suggest you use the current version from CVS. Just an update. After the win32 exception box is closed. I get a small pop up box from OpenSBC that says, "Not run as a service", but it was running as a service and handled the register request - then it had the win32 exception and put up the not run as a service box. After I click ok on that box the service stops and crashes. I can repeat this every time. |

Hi Folks, Please post if you can help me figure out what I am doing wrong. I built a brand new Win3k Server and patched it up to SP2, then I downloaded the binary of OpenSBC from opensipstack.org ( opensbc-1.1.4-setup.msi ) and I installed it on the Win3k server. Install was successful. I can see it in services list and it is Started. I was able to log into the web admin page and goto all the config screens. I changed no settings at all. I downloaded the binary of OSSPhone from opensipstack.org ( OSSPhoneSetup.msi ) and I installed it on my development XP box and it installed successfully and I started OSSPhone and inputted the IP ADDRESS of my Win3k server for which OpenSBC service is running. user id : regmaster account id : 2222 password: 1234 registrar : my win3k svr ip adder click [login] Then on win3k server desktop ( I am logged in as administrator on the win3k box ) I get "unhandled win32 exception" and the OpenSBC service stops itself. The OpenSBC logs show that the registration attempt was handled and does not show any errors. What else can I show or tell that will help? This seems so generic that it must be some kind of config issue. But either way the OpenSBC application should not just blow up with win32 exception..... |

Checkout the CALEA section. Packets filtered by CALEA will be dumped to a pcap file and saved int he calea folder. You may then create a script that will e-mail the packet capture. No code change is needed for this. i like to make saggestion for a new feature to operate like this... - In the configuration it is possible to define a specific SIP user (and assocated e-mail address) for testing purposes - whenever calls from the account are detected, osbc will automatically enable verbose logging and l email b2bua call logs to the stated email address in this way, it makes troubleshooting very easy. i hope you will agree it is worthile to ad |

Ryan was the owner of the code responsible for max sessions but from my understanding this is connected calls. Your example below is not a guarantee that the 51st call will be rejected. in trying to limit the total calls that get sent to a particular gateway, i created this b2bua route: [sip:5551212@*;max-session=50] sip:192.168.1.1 my question is whether incompleted calls will be counted as part of the session limit. that is, if i get 50 simultaneous call attempts that all be rejected by the gateway 192.168.1.1, what will happen to the 51st simultaneous call? hope it is clear |

Hi ehernaez In a conference call today my boss was in a rare mood. Which got us thinking about this "Open Source" effort. We have gone in circles and doubled back more then once. There seems to be fog and every once in while a fist punches through and drops some gold from it's hand and then retreats. Clearly you know exactly how to set this up and test it. What is the delay in publishing a simple how to like the SIP TRUNK doc. Its a great starter doc but un-worth of the talent running around Solegy.com. It may come in handy someday when SIP TRUNK actually starts working. How would you like to create a How To for all us imbeciles. After all isn't that the basic theosophy surrounding Open Source? If we were to get this to work and wanted to publish a step by step How To and wanted to make it available to everyone on this list how would we go about doing it so that it would be not burred 10 levels down.? It's definitely not necessary to have 4 OSBC instances. The same OSBC instances can be used for inbound and outbound call scenarios. You just need to be able to distinguish between inbound and outbound calls, which can be done by using a SIPX prefix for outbound calls. 8<----------------------------- Hi ehernaez ITSP <==> Peering OSBC <==> Access OSBC <==> sipX This requires two (2) opensbc's UA <==> Access OSBC <==> sipX <==> Peering OSBC <==> ITSP. This requires two (2) additional OSBC For a grand total of four (4) OSBC's. That's 5 servers altogether. Another way of looking at this is using factoring: ITSP <==> Peering OSBC <==> Access OSBC <==> sipX II II UA <==> Access OSBC <==> sipX <==> Peering OSBC <==> ITSP or this ITSP <==> Peering OSBC <==> Access OSBC <==> sipX <==> UA <==> Access OSBC <==> sipX <==> Peering OSBC <==> ITSP This is beginning to make me laugh out loud. In other words there is no way of using UPPerRegistration and Relay routes to eliminate 2 of the OSBC's It's beginning to look like the sipX people should incorporate openSBC as a SIP TRUNK Gateway for both Peering and Access Edge SBC's. After all openSBC is 100% RFC compliant. My god 4 OSBC's servers... Warrem Kreckler. |
