Looking for a Sharepoint substitute

I recently have come out of a job where we used Sharepoint extensively and really thought it was great value. As such OpenSharePoint Team Service really interests me as an option for my current company.

I would very much like to get access to the demo server to take a look at where the product stands now. Does anyone reading this have a login or could point to where I could get one?

I've emailed the project sponsor to no effect. From the looks of the lack or replies to the previous to messages I'm thinking maybe this effort is dead. Anybody have any news on this?

For what it's worth... I downloaded the latest version, installed it, there is a lot of errors, and much functionality is missing, but.... For the last 3 days I have fixed A LOT, created a lot of functions.

I have emailed the original author, but have not received any answer yet - I'll wait one more week.

If I don't get an answer from the author, I'll start my own version and release the work I have done so far. I also have a lot of enhancement ideas, eg. template based for easier layout changing.

You've got my interest.  Let me know if you need any help with continuing the project.  Although my PHP is a bit on the newbie side, I'll gladly jump in with whatever capacity I can and help.  Docs, site management, programming ideas, etc...
