Hi, I would strongly second that :) But there are several ways of transferring the per-instance data (transformation matrices), see for an overview: http://sol.gfxile.net/instancing.html For our project, we have implemented a derived MaterialDrawable for a single glDrawElementsInstanced call using the "Matrices in a texture" approach (via GLSL variable "gl_InstanceID"). You need single-indexed geometry data with one primitive (e.g. triangle_strip).
