Hi I'm happy to announce that the Open Sea Map depth data is now freely available under the Public Domain license in conjunction with the source code (other licenses). You can find instructions to retrieve the data through bittorrent here: https://depth.openseamap.org/#contribute Instructions on how to obtain the software is listed there as well. Checking out the IDE has also been automated (The Eclipse Installer link is currently broken). You can run the raw data processing from within the Eclipse ide and contribute to the code if you wish. See the documentation to get some architectural overview of the backend processing parts. You can easily fork the code from svn to github if you wish to do so. Feedback is very welcome.
