The OpenSAF community is pleased to announce the General Availability of the OpenSAF 5.0.0 enhancements release.
The following are the significant features of this major(architectural) release:
(a) Support for spare system controllers 2N + spares
When a System Controller(SC) node goes down, one of the spare nodes is promoted as SC. Any number of spare nodes can be configured in the cluster.
(b) Do not reboot the cluster when both the system controller nodes go down.
Also termed as support for headless cluster(cloud resilience) when the SCs are down and resurrection of states after system controllers come back again.
(c) Enhancements to the Python bindings
(d) Support for logging the node's name from which a log record originated
(MDS carries node name as a part of the header)
(e) Integration of NTF service with CLM
