In version 1.7.5? (download the version from the site that says 1.7.3 (file is 1.7.1, appears as 1.7.5 when you load it)

If you don't do the updates the miniature maps work fine. If you do run the updates you can no longer use .xml files that contain map / minature / FOW etc features. Here is an example of the xml file I'm trying to load and a snip of the strace output when it locks. It's worth noting that I actually made this xml file in a 1.7.5 version that had the appropriate update.

    I've encountered the same bug. As far as I can gather, it SEEMS to stem from ORPG trying to load too many minis at once. If I add minis one at a time, I'm fine. I can even load and unload the map without a problem, as long as it's the same instance of the program. But if I quit and start again, or start a new instance of ORPG, and try to load a map with more than about 2 minis (I haven't experimented in depth to determine the exact number) and a background image, it instantly locks, and does the same to any other 1.7.5 users present in the same room who haven't had the chance to load it component by component.
