Would like a way to verify the user has an account before being able to watch videos similar to how the Netflix channel works

This is on my "to do" list for v0.4. It's listed in the TODO file in the docs folder.

* Add username and password feature to settings screen
  to enable users to save an id/pass to the registry
  and to include id/pass in feed and stream requests.

I plan on including the option to choose between basic http authentication or including the id/pass as url parameters in a post request. Neither option can be considered secure though so I would recommend that you only use the feature in combination with https.
