    Hi,

CFD is certainly something I would like to see in OpenRocket, but it's quite a large undertaking. Airfoils as such are not a significant part of the problem, as few model rockets have specifically shaped fins. I believe xfoil is a 2D CFD engine, and quite different from the required 3D engine.

Elmer (http://www.csc.fi/english/pages/elmer) and OpenFoam (http://www.opencfd.co.uk/openfoam/) would probably be better suited building blocks for CFD simulation. If someone has the know-how to use them, I'd be glad to help to get such a simulation method to OpenRocket.
