Hi, Version 1.0 of OpenQuicktime is very old now. I am currently working hard on getting a new release - but for the time being I recommend using the version in CVS. Having said that, there is not yet a version of 3ivx available for the latest OQT sources. As for the specific problem you are having - it is looks like a more general problem - rather than something to do with OpenQuicktime. The error you are seeing is generated by the autoconf scripts rather than OpenQuicktime. Stay tuned and we should have a new release of OpenQuicktime and 3ivx guys should release a 3ivx plugin for it... Cheers, nick. >Hi, >My name is Arturo Torres. >I am trying to install OpenQuickTime 1.0 and got the following error when I >run the "configure" program running as root: > >"checking for gcc... gcc >checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... no >configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot >create executables." > >I am running Conectiva Linux 8.0 (Kernel 2.4). > >I would appreciate someone could help me to solve this issue to finish >installing openquicktime. >My main interest is to run MPEG-4 movies using the 3ivx plug-in. > >Any help will be appreciated. > >Thanks, > >Arturo > > > >------------------------------------------------------- >This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek >Welcome to geek heaven. >http://thinkgeek.com/sf >_______________________________________________ >Openquicktime-users mailing list >Ope...@li... >https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/openquicktime-users |
