[Openquicktime-users] Openquicktime installation problem: C compiler cannot create executables

Hi,
My name is Arturo Torres.=20
I am trying to install OpenQuickTime 1.0 and got the following error when=
 I=20
run the "configure" program running as root:

"checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc  ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler canno=
t=20
create executables."

I am running Conectiva Linux 8.0 (Kernel 2.4).

I would appreciate someone could help me to solve this issue to finish=20
installing openquicktime.
My main interest is to run MPEG-4 movies using the 3ivx plug-in.

Any help will be appreciated.
