Hi Mark, OQT, even if it is clearly in a development stage is already used as is or some parts only in all the major new multimedia projects under Linux (Xine, Mplayer, Gstreamer and soon Transcode). There is already a Mozilla plugin using Gstreamer which uses OQT. OQT is basically a LIBRARY, that means there is no real executable to launch but a set of applications using it. It has been designed for DEVELOPERS firstly. Yes, we have a basic player and a basic encoder but they have been designed only as example how to use the library. And the OQTPlayer and OQTEncoder have documentations. If you want a precise documentation, look at the openquicktime.h file : this is the library API... But, as always, if you don't think this is enough and is motivated, feel free to help us ;) Yann. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark LaPierre" <mar...@td...> To: <ope...@li...>; "Nicholas Humfrey" <nj...@ec...> Sent: Thursday, February 21, 2002 1:51 AM Subject: RE: [Openquicktime-users] OpenQuicktime How to?? > > Subj:Re: [Openquicktime-users] OpenQuicktime How to?? > > Date:Wed, 20 Feb 2002 7:45:25 PM Eastern Standard Time > > From:Nicholas Humfrey <nj...@ec...> > > To:ope...@li... > > CC:mar...@ao... > > > > What do you want to be able to do ? > > I was hoping to use it as a Netscape plugin or as a stand alone player if that > won't work. > > > Play movies ? > > Playing movies is what QT is all about isn't it?
