[Openquicktime-users] what next?

Dear OpenQuicktime People,

I have just downloaded this app to my Linux (Caldera OpenLinux)
computer. I am still inthe dark about tar-giz and un-zip and so on.
What's the next step to make this app happen in my computer? I'd REALLY
appreciate a simple "open this file and type the following" guide, but
such things are hard to come by for Linux app's I've tried to install
before...HELP!
