The fact that you have to make your entire program GPL when you want to use GPL code was the key requirement for the success of Open Soure. The same applies to data, too. A game is a derived work, not a mere aggregation. It will become obvious when you play it - it's interactive and everything interdepends. A mere aggregation would be for example a CD with just different data files on it or a foto album or something like that. But nevermind. It's up to us to enforce it. And if we don't care let's just wish them well and put our energies into further Open Quartz development... ...like adding sounds - I completed the zombie sounds because I could not stand all the messages in the console when starting a singleplayer game :-) -Toddd |
