    Hello!
    Build your programming, it works.
However, programm pic18f2550 using WinPic800 and the trivial scheme programmer to LPT port ART2003 (5 wires).
Had to leave the fuse bits LVP.
Because of this it was necessary to make minor amendments to the board for stable operation - add 10k resistor
between pin 26 (PGM) and the ground - or interference from the microprocessor programmer unstable and once even flew firmware.
Just in case the rest of the findings for low-voltage programming "pulled" to the ground.

To repeat your programmer would like to add to your page a
    simple programming PIC18F2550?

    With respect to your work,
    Andrey from Russia.

    Hello,
if you program with LVP the programmer is not going to work.
Pin 26 is used for DATA so it has to move freely.

Yes, PIC microcontrollers are not programmed. But 24Cxx & 25256 EEPROM worked correctly.

Just finalized ART2003 for normal programming - added PNP+NPN transistors to control WGM - connect on pin 2 LPT port (0 bit). PIC18F2550 programmed wrong.

    Everything works.

Maybe we should add to the home page a simple implementation of ways to program the microcontroller via LPT port?

Serial memories do not use RB5.
On the website I advise to use a COM programmer because it doesn't require an external power supply; anyways it's not my job to show the implementation of an old and unreliable programmer.
Besides, how many computers have a serial or parallel interface any more?
I think the easiest way is to have someone program the device for you.
I do it sometimes (for people in Italy).
