Finally all schematics and PCBs are ported to Kicad in version 2.0
    Some changes:
ICSP and OneWire connectors added to the main board
added layout of SPI FLASH expansion board
expansion connectors are offset by 50 mil in order to avoid plugging in reverse
    added option to use micro-USB

"expansion connectors are offset by 50 mil in order to avoid plugging in reverse"

How does this prevent plugging in reverse?

I can't quite see how it will work.

    Thank you for your design!

Indeed, it does not work as intended; an additional pin would be necessary but it would require a non standard header so I'll just keep it like it is now.

I agree, it's not worth changing the boards again!

Do you have a list of which devices can be programmed using the on board U4 socket?

    Thank you

If you wanted to prevent 180 degree rotation using only the headers you have now, you could position them like this: | _

The second header doesn't have to be horizontal, it could be just slightly diagonal.

Just not particularly aesthetically appealing ...

True, but it does stop you plugging it in backwards! 90 degrees doesn't look so bad.

  • Alberto Maccioni

90 degrees with the current pinout would complicate the layout and dictate a rather large minimum size. Sure, it can be done.
If I were to redesign it today I would add a third connector with just one or two pins.
But in the end it's not worth the effort.

Why not just plug pins 4 (RA1/LED) or 5 (RA2/LED) (or both) on connector CONN3 and cut the corresponding pin on the expansion boards ?
The LED signals are not being used in the expansion boards anyway, and are not marked as 'future expansion' in the map of resources and connectors

Good afternoon everyone, please tell me this programmer writes atmega128 who collected it

    • Alberto Maccioni

      Yes, ATMega128 is supported
