Please give me some expert advice on this. I'm willing to buy a new debug
adapter due to the connect under reset issue (especially now that Armstart
seems to be out of business), but not sure if it's a waste of money.

So how likely is it that the adapter is at fault here?

And which CMSIS-DAP adapters (preferably inexpensive) are known to work?
