Not so strange... there is some set of symbols + GDB 6.8 that is conspiring to
cause these problems. It most likely exists w/your GDB, but doesn't happen with
your .elf file...

Also CDT is throwing all sorts of memory queries at GDB to evaluate e.g. mouse
rollovers and evaluation of data.
