Hi This is an interesting topic on MSX.org. <http://www.msx.org/forumtopicl871.html> What is the status of our YM2413 core? Do we use the latest one of Otazaki? NLMSX now also offers an alternative implementation by Jarek Burczynski. How about offering this choice in openMSX too? I don't know where to get it exactly, but this guy seems to be a MAME developer, AFAICS. Actually, Patriek mentioned him before, e.g. on 15/05/2002. We could definately profit from that work, but it should be easier to incorporate the latest versions of those cores. How well are they isolated? Since according to Wouter the Turbo R emulation should be almost perfect (except for the V9958, the MIDI, the FDC and the poor PCM quality), I'll try to do some tests with Turbo R software and file bug reports in case of trouble. By the way, we have discussed in the past about using other open source module cores, like the one used for the OPL4 in other emulators. -- Grtjs, Manuel PS: MSX 4EVER! (Questions?
