If this is the case you need to run the following command before running ./configure: export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig Cheers -Richard |

I recently downloaded, made and installed the latest gavl, but openmovieeditor (latest one also) configure script fails to locat gavl. has any one had any success compiling openmovieeditor lately. I am attempting to compile on FC5, with no success since I can't get by the configure problem. Any help will be appreciated. thanks, tom |

However Open Movie Editor uses OpenGL which can be accelerated by the graphics hardware as well. > When adding pictures and video to the timeline, it should be easier to > stretch them etc. on the timeline. Do you mean stretch in the sense of timestretching (slowmotion, fastforward), or in the sense of zooming into the image? I am currently working on a plugin that does the later, I've attached a screenshot of the preliminary user interface. :-) Thanks for your feedback, and have fun. :-) Cheers -Richard |

Hello I have a few suggestions for Open Movie Editor: When creating a slideshow consisting of pictures, it would be nice to make the pictures not to be scaled. Maybe the player part of the program should use the xv driver? When adding pictures and video to the timeline, it should be easier to stretch them etc. on the timeline. Regards, Roberth |

Hi, This release adds a number of changes to support different video frame rates, it has a new color correction plugin, and it uses a threaded audio decoding backend for improved jack compatibility. Hi, I think I didn't read the error message properly. It seems that the real problem is that the ogg was encoded at a rate other than 25 fps. Is there any chance some kind of frame interpolator or framedropping could be implemented to make it possible to load a file with some other frame rate? Hi, I made this design decision, because the projects are user data, like other files, and not configuration data. At least in my Opinion, but I do agree that this should be configurable, and it will be in the future. I am also not quite sure, whether any further refinements are needed for the project-management, so if you have any comments or ideas that you'd like to share, feel free to do so. :-) I appreciate feedback very much, thanks. :-) Cheers, and have fun, -Richard |

hi to the list, i discovered ome about half year ago and i like it very much! though, there is one thing which i don't like at all, but that might be my personally taste. why is ome writing a 'Video Project' directory every time i open the appi? for me, it would be very much better, if the project dir would be called '.Video_projects' or what ever, but i think it should be a hidden directory, since i really don't like, when some software creates directory in my user space, that will be showed with 'ls' command. imagine, if a software usually would make that, than i would have 100 or 200 (not hidden) directories in my home-dir. the best way it would be, if ome after installation or at the build time would ask me, where to create the project dir and how to call it. the simpler it would be (i suppose for the programmers), if the project dir would just be created as a hidden dir , b.e '.VideoProjects'. but, very much thanks for the work in the ome! cheers, doc |

Hi, I've created a new page on the Open Movie Editor Site, that outlines a number of features that I would like to include sooner or later, complete with descriptions and screenshot-mockups. http://openmovieeditor.sourceforge.net/Plans If you think that I missed something feel free to send a mail, and if you have any suggestions about specific details I'll be happy to hear them. If you like one of these proposals best and you think that it should be implemented first, be sure to mention that and don't hesitate to give a quick motivation for your opinion. Have fun -Richard |

Hi, I just wanted to let everyone know, that I've just released Open Movie Editor 0.0.20061121. The most visible new feature is the integration of the frei0r specification, to support filter plugins. See the Open Movie Editor Tutorial http://propirate.net/repos/openme-developers/doc/tutorial.html In the last section, at the bottom of the page, the user interface for the plugins is explained. For Frei0r plugins, check out the following Page: http://www.piksel.org/Frei0r I started the integration of frei0r at this years piksel, with a little help from Niels Elburg, thanks. :-) The Open Movie Editor homepage is at: http://openmovieeditor.sourceforge.net/ If you have any questions, ideas, suggestions, feature requests, bug reports, feel free to report them to the Mailinglist or the forums. Open Movie Editor Mailinglist: http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/openmovieeditor-list Open Movie Editor Forum: http://openmovieeditor.sourceforge.net/board/ Be aware though that some frei0r effects do not work as intended, as they need a little patching to cooperate with Open Movie Editor. My Software is probably a little more unforgiving than other hosts. ;-) If you want to use a specific plugin, and it doesn't work, just mail me and I will provide a fix. I've already sent a mail about this to the frei0r mailinglist, to get it fixed upstreams. :-) Have fun -Richard |

Hi, I uploaded a new release, that adds some features and fixes a number of bugs. Release Notes: http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=431531&group_id=142766 Download: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/openmovieeditor/openmovieeditor-0.0.20060712.tar.gz?download Unfortunately I did not update the documentation, therefore I explain the only visible new feature here: You can select several clips at once by dragging a rectangle around them, you can then move them. The selection can be altered using Ctrl+click, and you can select all clips after the stylus with the context-menu. Have fun -Richard |

Can you check whether you have the "fltk-config" program on your system? You could also send the "config.log" file from the ./configure run as attachment, then I can check what's the problem. -Richard |
