Hi Well, you see, as I have stated before in this mailing list I am actually in the clustering race and not in the kernel race. The difference in the two races is that whereas in the kernel race you go for most features, drivers, and some bug fixes, in the cluster race you go for stability and best performance. If I switch kernel every few weeks, than I have to start working again on these issues all over again. Cluster sysadmins want reliability first, peformance second, and new features third, in my personal opinion. Changing kernels too often goes against these requirements. Nonetheless, I am committed to release 2.4.17, then .18 and then .19, all at due time. I highly appreciate all your opinions and I am indeed working on 2.4.17. Many thanks Moshe On 18 Apr 2002, A.J.
