Hi everyone, I’ve been working with Wi-Fi type networks and Point-to-Point links with licensed and unlicensed radios for the last 10 years. I’m very interested in open source LTE technology. Is it possible, or has anyone, tested OpenLTE with unlicensed spectrum - 2.4, 5.8, 900mhz (US ISM) or 863Mhz (EU) ? Purchasing licensed spectrum (at least in 3Ghz) is getting much harder here in Ireland because the regulator (COMREG) is preparing to re-auction the spectrum for a lot more than it used to cost. Apart from the base station radio (BladeRF, etc) side is there any client LTE devices that are compatible with unlicensed frequencies? I note that some of the common LTE channels (e.g. channels 40 or 41) are close to 2.4Ghz but not within the normal license free band. thanks for any info Derek -- Derek C Sent with Airmail |
