Yes, that's one of the fixes in 1.5.2, including others to get it to co= mpile with newer compilers, e.g., g++ 4.0. To paraphrase what you said, unless there is a real benefit to using 1.= 5.1, why not use 1.5.2? Since you are doing your initial install, you are n= ot at risk of breaking anything that works already.
