All,
  I have refreshed both binaries and sources for the supplibs-2.1.0 on
sf.net:

 In particular I added freebsd binaries and made several adjustments, mostly
by including -fPIC all over and some adjustments around cairo.

 If you are intending to build by all means checkout from the CVS repo, do
not use the sources that I just posted. This way you will be able to easily
update when other patches are committed, and most importantly, you will be
able to check in your own patches.
