I had a different explanation of this from Daniele as follows: (sorry I forgot to copy my query that preceded it to the list) Auto/manual finish: In automatic finish mode as soon as a "completeWorkitem" API is called (supposedly by the activity application upon ending its work) the instance will be automatically forwarded to the next activity. In manual finish mode this will not be done and user (again, the activity application upon user input) will have to call the "forwardWorkitem" API. This enables the user to choose a given path (transition) for the instance to follow. So mainly this mode is reserved for manually steering the instance in alternative paths of the process. (Remeber that you can automatically steer the instance giving condition to transitions). -----Original Message----- From: en...@ic... [SMTP:en...@ic...] Sent: 01 March 2002 17:45 To: Ope...@li... Hi, sometimes may happen that you need an explicit signal to be sure an action is terminated, is usefulin embedded environment or in presence of lot o 'manual' work, maybe it will not be useful for most of OpenFlow user but we've included this option for WfMC compatibility. > _______________________________________________ > Openflow-dev mailing list > Ope...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/openflow-dev -- Vincenzo Di Somma - Responsabile Ricerca e Sviluppo - Icube S.r.l.
