Installation

Server Installation__
Download OpenERPPLM.zip file, corresponding to your server version and unzip it in a directory named OpenERPPLM. Be careful, no spaces are allowed in directory module name.
Edit your openerp-server.conf_ configuration file having care to add to addons_path variable a new custom directory pathname. (i.e. /opt/custom ).
Move ___OpenERPPLM directory to new custom path.

We suggest to keep standard Odoo server software separated from any customization, to help maintenance operations but, of course, it is not mandatory.

We recommend, to have a satisfactory and safe test of our module, to install it on a void Odoo environment. This simple artifice will help to understand if any issue can be avoided before to apply PLM module to your production environment.

Suggestion:
Be careful to use "admin" account with language set to "English" to install PLM module.

Client Installation
Download Odoo(x86).exe or Odoo(x64).exe, corresponding to your editor platform version (32 or 64 bit) and execute it double-clicking.
A complete guided installer will complete the operation, leaving your computer able to work with Odoo PLM Module.
Into CAD editor will be placed a new menu and a new toolbar, containing PLM commands.

Don't forget to login (first time) to Odoo server.

Using with ThinkDesign it is mandatory to download and install GhostScript.

We suggest to install Odoo Client (based on GTK Windows interface) to execute some of necessary steps during work. If you prefer also Odoo Web Client could be used.
This suggestion is useful for Odoo version 6.0 or 6.1, of course for Odoo 7.0 and above PLM module is fully web interface compliant.

Editor Integration
Odoo PLM Module is fully integrated with following editors:

• ThinkDesign from version 2009.3 to 2016.1
• SolidWorks from version 2010 to 2017
• Inventor from version 2011 to 2017 (except version 2014)
• SolidEdge from version ST3 to ST9

We don't support Inventor 2014 due to changes to add-ins platform, changed from MS Visual Studio to MS .Net. Anything works fine again, on 2015 version.

AddOn Modules:
These modules will be realized as add-on for base PLM Module and let to integrate other systems like CAE, etc. These modules are realized in agreement with original producers and can require software parts directly from original producers. Ask for quotations.

Properties mapping
Each editor can be customized, being mapped properties to reflect themselves on Odoo fields. This customization has to be requested apart at "sales@omniasolutions.eu".

Usage
Client commands will be executed on current document or current part (if any selected) and they will perform following operations:

*Login

• Edit Parts
• Assign Document Data
• Save
• Check-In
• Check-Out
• Clone
• New Revision
• New Document Revision

It should be pretty obvious, the reason to ask to be current on a document (or a part in an assembly), in this way it's possible to read or write PLM information into the objects.

New Revision provides to create a new revision of Part ad Document, writing updated infos on current file. To create a new revision it is mandatory to have Part and Document in Released status. New Document Revision will be applied to Document only. When revision operations will be ended current file will be saved to Odoo .

Periodically follow your tickets to see when closed. We will update freely download directory.

Anyone can download and use it for free, for personal purposes, to develop on it, to test it privately. To the users that will use Odoo PLM module for their business and so, they will require a regular maintenance and support, we ask an annual fee to support our efforts. To these users we will ask to be registered and to use their registration number on tickets.
Registered users will have as soon as possible a patch or a fresh package.

Performances

Test performed on ThinkDesign 2009.3 on single file, save time measured on local network.
