I have noticed recent trouble with the DC++ 0.4034
client and opendchub. Apparently they have begun
developing towards the new ADC protocol standards which
are in development. Which currently include UTF-8 for
example.
This causes users with characters such as åäöü in their
nicks to get a connection reset from opendchub since it
obviously can't handle it.
Have a look at my post at the DC++ forums
http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13019
And while we're on the subject of current protocol
non-standards, I noticed fulDC has the option to edit
your own Connection Type.
Instead of the North American standards T1, T3,
Europeans (Swedes mostly?) using Windows can now enter
"100 Mb/s full duplex" if they want - but lo! This
causes odch to fail and close the connection since it's
obviously not [current] DC protocol.
Would be most happy if someone had a look at this :)
