They asked me to redo the technical description and I had wanted to wait until we discussed it further before settling on a license. But when I chose one and drafted a new description they were happy. It took so long because I have been traveling and hadn't checked on it lately. > > Thomas Sutton will be uploading the base source code that we will be > > starting from. > Done. My Issues!<g> There have been NUMEROUS commercial implementations using Clips as a base. How many have contributed back to the core project? Not many as far as I can find. THat is my reason for leaning towards the GPL. That said......I want to be able to grow a vibrant community. If the general thoughts are that the GPL will restrict the size of the development community then I think I need to reconsider a BSD or is it appropriate to use the LGPL? > There is also a brief TODO in CVS with a number of administrivia and some > preliminary cleanup work that we'll need to do. I hope Glen has some time to take this on now. He had told me before that he would try to take the lead project management so that the others could do most of the development. I do expect he will have a hand in coding as well. Glen, what is your current situation? Cheers, Tim |
