Followed the instructions to install on Windows; extracted files, installed drivers and tried to execute 'cbmctrl reset'.

Got the following error:

C:\Program Files\opencbm-0.4.2-i386\exe>cbmctrl reset
\.\opencbm0: The system cannot find the file specified.

Not sure what I did wrong - any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

    Hello,

It looks as if the installation failed at some point. Can you send me the output of "instcbm --check"?

Hey Spiro - thanks for the response.

Here's the output from instcbm --check, it does look like there's a problem:

    C:\Program Files\opencbm-0.4.2-i386\exe>instcbm --check
    Checking configuration for cbm4win
Driver or DLL not correctly installed.

    The following configuration is used:

    INSTCBM version: 0.4.2
Driver version: COULD NOT DETERMINE VERSION
    Driver path: C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\cbm4wdm.sys
    DLL version: 0.4.2
    DLL path: C:\Program Files\opencbm-0.4.2-i386\exe\OPENCBM.DLL

There are mixed versions, THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED!

    Driver configuration:
    Default port: ........ LPT1
Driver start mode: ... auto (2)
    LPT port locking: .... yes
    Cable type: .......... auto (-1)

*** There were errors in the current configuration.
*** Please fix them before trying to use the driver!

    Thanks.

    Hello,

are you sure you are administrator on your machine? On what kind of Windows machine (XP, Vista? Is the OS a 32 bit or a 64 bit edition? What CPU) are you using OpenCBM?

It looks strange this way. The only reason I can think of are permissions problems OR you are using the i386 version of OpenCBM on a AMD64 machine.

Is there a file C:\windows\system32\drivers\cbm4wdm.sys? Can you copy it to another location?
