#794 Gallery issues

The problem is that whenever I press the thumbnail of photo I had just clicked in bottom left corner, it opens up the Google Photos app. Unfortunately, the images clicked through the app do not appear in here. Furthermore, I do not like this automatic behaviour of choosing the default gallery app.

I hope this issue can be fixed soon.

Are you saving the photos to a non-default location (see Settings/More camera controls/Save location)? Some gallery apps like Google Photos don't work well with photos in unexpected locations (e.g. outside of DCIM/).

I wasn't sure how you mean? I prefer to use the user's gallery rather than writing a built-in one to avoid bloating Open Camera. Note that you can change the default if you have another one stored (it's whatever is registered as the default for the device).

Nevermind, I was using a custom location and after changing it to default, my images appear now. 😅Sorry for that.

But the thing is that I have the Google photos app and the samsung gallery app. Unfortunately, I am not offered a choice between the two. I have tried clearing all default actions and Set as action for the Google Photos app. Nothing works. Is this because of same reason that Gcam apps directly open photos in Google Photos app?

I'm not sure why what you've tried for defaults doesn't work I'm afraid - clearing defaults for Google Photos works for me on my Galaxy S10e (I get asked a choice when I next go to the gallery in Open Camera).

Did you try to eject and remount your memory?
