I would love having qrcode support on open caméra. adding this will alow people to have one without an appel dedicated to that bloated with ads ans trackers :/

I know a lot of people are asking for it, and I appreciate the idea of completely eliminating use of the stock camera. Although there's also the risk that using a library to do this might add bloat for one feature that other people don't care about ... maybe one day, but I haven't got round to it yet I'm afraid.

Usage of QR for covid related signs is very common in Europe. Many restaurants here in NL also just have a QR code on the table for a menu, so since switching to Android I've just had to order off my partner's iPhone.
QR support is the missing feature.
zxing seems to be in maintenance mode, but apparently works in continues to get contributions. If bloat/slowness is a concern, it's likely possible to only parse 1 or 2 frames per second (rather than the whole stream). This would reduce the work being done continuously by a lot.

QR support is still missing feature (2025). Could you please add it. I already use OpenCamera as default app, but this one feature is missing (expected subfeatures: show/read, open, copy to clipboard, open with) . Thank you in advance.

Android now has QR code scanning as standard, via the pull down widgets, "Scan QR code". Or even from within Open Camera, holding the home button, then doing Google's "circle to search" should work on QR codes.
