Not sure what the variables are. I could not track down what parameters specify the type of DNG created but using Opencamera on a pixel phone the files are 10bit and the senor is 14bit so it should be saved using senor_raw and not raw10 which is what it looks like happens.... or something equivalent... Attached is a native dng....you can see the differences in the exif data and this is what is used in the raw processors if you want to edit these files...

Open Camera uses ImageFormat.RAW_SENSOR for RAW/DNG. I tested on my Pixel 6 Pro, and a DNG saved with Open Camera shows "Bits Per Sample : 16" in exiftool (same as one taken with Google Camera). So may be a Pixel 3a specific limitation.

Hmm yes, on my Pixel 6 Pro the DNG from Open Camera has white level 1023, compared to 16368 for Google camera.

This user posted an open camera dng shot with a Pixel 6...still shows raw white and black levels (ie 1023 and 63) that represent 10Bits of data vs google cam generated DNG.... at least IMO....
