Can't find it anywhere in the open camera settings?
Using Honor 5x KIW-l24
Open camera v1.33
Locate the "Gear" icon lower right corner, scroll down slightly and look for "More Camera Controls" Third option down "shutter sound" tab the slider to the off postion.
This works for photos but not for video. Maybe turning of is not supported for this phone?
Disabling sound for video is only possible if Settings/"Use Camera2 API" is enabled (not all phones support this).

Where exactly is this option?
I don't see it.
Settings (Gears Icon) > ... More camera controls ... > Shutter sound (third option from the top)
Thanks, though I wasn't asking about that. Rather about the "Use Camera2 API" option.
I didn't see "Use Camera2 API" neither. I guess it the phone does not support it, the option doesn't show up.
BTW Simple Camera disables shutter sound for both, photo and video, but also not separately.
