Would it be possible to manually override the mic settings in favor of more natural mic like the voice recorder app uses. Opencamera has a better mic setting than stockapp but stil has issues recording water

The mic on the pixel 2 xl is just absolute garbage. Would you be up for an external mic? Its been glitchy but i have had much much better results using the rode video micro. Here is a test between the two I did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aBybHpc3EA
