An object looks as text like follows -----BEGIN HEADER----- option=value ... -----END HEADER----- -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- PEM-encoded cert -----END CERTIFICATE----- and here follow perhaps a private pkcs#8 key If you need another searchable attribute then you have to add the attribute to the header and we have to fix the database modules. If you only need the attribute as data then we only have to modify the code which handles the header. Today this code is really statical but we can made it more dynamic if necessary.
