Well, usually this is illegal and may also influence other users on the network, so tis for sure is considered bad practice. When you use the same MCC and MNC like your regular provider, you must put your cell on an ARFCN that shows up in the neighbor list of your regular BTS but is unused in the place of your private BTS.
