All - There are a few announcements concerning OpenBTS source code. All of this has been announced on the openbts.sf.net web page already, but I don't know how many people look at that on a regular basis. * There is a new release, 2.6 "Mamou", available for download on sf.net. See the README file in the new release for a list of new features and important bug fixes. The 2.6 release should be fully backwards compatible with any existing 2.5.x installation. Therefore, there should be no need for further bug fix releases in the 2.5 series. If you want bugs fixed in 2.5, try upgrading to 2.6 first and then we can fix them there. * With the public 2.6 release, Kestrel is changing the public-release license to AGPLv3 with additional clauses, as allowed by the original license. Please read the LEGAL and COPYING files in the 2.6 release for more information, especially if you are using or considering OpenBTS for a public-network or government application. * There is now an OpenBTS public git repository hosted out of sf.net. We are still waiting for a git repository at GNU Radio and will use this one for now. The 2.6 trunk is available there. See http://sourceforge.net/scm/?type=git&group_id=230904 for access information. This repository is publicly readable, however, to get write access you must execute a contributors' license agreement (CLA) with Kestrel. -- David |
