The main difference between UPC-A and UPC-E is the size of the bar code. The UPC-E is also called a 0-Suppressed UPC because the UPC-E compresses a normal 12 digit UPC-A number into a six digit code by "suppressing" the number system digit. So UPC-A can be converted into UPC-E in a way. Or you can get UPC-E font straight away and use it to generate the barcode.
