Note that this is a recommendation from the Dwarf standard, and although 
GCC does not comply with it, GDB is able to handle it.

If you have problems with making GDB handle open64's Dwarf, it's not 
because of the comp_dir contents.

I notice that I had to make Open64's driver (phases.c) use the full 
source pathname after -dumpbase; I don't remember exactly why it 
confused GDB otherwise.
