The original purpose of the data aggregator was to be an intelligent, true proxy for multiple data providers, recognizing the reality of connectivity from offshore, poorly connected data provider nodes. In this drawing, I guess it appears that the main purpose of the aggregator is to provide data to a visualizer. This ignores the concept of providing data to down-stream requesters as well as providing a path to archivers (arguably an instance of downstream requesters).
