boot and recovery partitions are not detectable on some devices for which /proc/mtd and /proc/emmc does not exist.
Here is a zip file to flash in recovery for such devices. After flashing this file, run Online Nandroid as usual and it should detect and backup boot and recovery partitions.

WARNING: Do not flash a zip file which is not for your device. If you are unsure, ask in a comment.

Thanks for this script and all the hard work.

I have tried several times to flash the m0 (Samsung I9300) partition file using TWRP 2.3.6.0. It always said failed. If I manually extract partitionlayout4android to /system and set the permissions, it works. But I would prefer to use the update zip method, so when I flash a new rom version I can flash it automatically.

    Regard s,

    Phill

I tried it with TWRP 2.6.3.1 and 6.0.4.5 of CWM. Both gave an error saying they could not open the file (despite the fact I can open it in es file explorer and extract the file). The log from TWRP contains this:

minzip: Incompatible "version made by": 0x0b (at 0)
    E:Unable to open zip file.
    Error flashing zip '/external_sd/Repository/part_detect_tool.m0.zip'

If others have this problem, maybe it makes sense to replace the file.

Yes, I did try making a backup, in terminal emulator on the phone, and it gave the errors that 'boot not found' and 'recovery' not found, and then it started moving forward to the other partitions, at which point I closed the process.
I don't have the device with me anymore, but I do have the recovery.fstab (at least i think i do, will have to search my drives again). I do wanna clarify that I'm not a dev, just an eager to learn user, so I'm a noob at this. Thanks a lot for all your efforts though, it's guys like you who keep the android scene alive.

@serejks Information about your device is rare on the internet. Would you be able to direct me to a place where I can obtain information about partition layout for that device? A scatter file, PIT file, a link to any github repos for your device, or recovery.fstab from recovery ramdisk would be just fine.
