To me, it’s just a way for the dynamic library loader to verify that a compatible version is found. OTOH I'm sorry for the python bindings, but the dependencies are difficult to package in Debian. In any case, I hope that this autumn I will make a new try and we can finally have a Python binding for OMPL.
