First of all, great tool!!

I was evaluating several dvd ripping tools and unfortunately, ogmrip was the last one I tried because of it's name. But it ended up being the best! (I was looking for tools that could rip to matroska.)

I think some better publicity could be had, had the name been more accurate and generic.

I do agree. Back in time, when I started working on OGMRip, OGM was the only advanced container and this was the only container I inteded to support. But eventually, I added AVI, matroska and MP4 support and OGMRip is not adapted anymore.

Do you have any idea ?

    Suggested names:

    dvdrip
    dvdripper
    gdvdrip
    gdvdripper
    dvdencoder
    gdvdencoder

The 'g' prefix lets people know it's a gui tool. I think the 'dvd' portion is pretty important since that's the medium the tool works with (unless other inputs are planned for the future, otherwise 'video' may be more appropriate). 'encoder' may be a more suitable name compared to 'ripper'.

Thanks again for the great tool!

What about "derip"? If "shrip" stands for "shell ripper", then "derip" would be "desktop environment ripper" or "decoder encoder and ripper" or ... :-)

I have to +1 here. I tries several of your competitors, and lastely yours due to the name.

Marketing is the key! The name has to sell.

    Good job btw!
