OggCarton is a cross-platform CD ripper, database, and web server for Ogg and MP3 files. OggCarton needs no external database or web server. With this release, the OggCarton Home Jukebox software moves from the alpha to the beta stage. Accordingly, binaries and installers for Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows are now available for those who prefer to not roll their own. Full source is still available for those who do. Enjoy!

With this release, the OggCarton Home Jukebox is feature-frozen for 1.0. Several user interface enhancements have been made to the web interface (including a random-play function) and numerous bugs have been fixed. Users of earlier releases should definitely upgrade.

Source release 0.15 alpha for the OggCarton Home Jukebox project. OggCarton lets you rip, search, manage, and play Ogg Vorbis music files. You can play files either locally or over your home network through the built-in web server. It will also search and play existing MP3 files.

Requires no external database or web server. Runs on Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X.

This is an initial release of the OggCarton source code. No binaries yet. I'll try to build some "nice" installers soon.

This should definitely be considered experimental software. Not for the faint of heart!
