Please could we have two new population qualities:
mixed species: "A quality inhering in a population by virtue of that population consisting of members of more than one species."
single species: "A quality inhering in a population by virtue of that population consisting only of members of a single species."
I suggest using the words 'homozygous' for single and 'heterozygous' for mixed
Hi Pankaj, I'm unfamiliar with this usage of homozygous and heterozygous, having only encountered them in their common usage for describing genotypes. Using these terms in this context seems likely to be to cause much confusion.
Cheers,
David
