An updated file containing the mapping of MO terms to either an equivalent term in an OBO Foundry ontology or the relevant ObiBranch if in the scope of OBI has been uploaded to: https://wiki.cbil.upenn.edu/obiwiki/index.php/TranscriptomicsCommunity Cheers, Trish |

I think I agree with Chris, these were mage engineered terms. Something more usefully descriptive would be better Helen Chris Stoeckert wrote: > I would think not. Helen Causton has kindly agreed to take on the role of Function editor. I anticipate that she will communicate from Function branch discussion what they are looking for and together we can decide what terms if any are appropriate. All the branches need input from us. I am acting in my role as Branch Facilitator to make sure that all the branches are moving forward. The Function branch run by Bill Bug has only 3 editors (Bill, Alan, and covering GO Function, Suzi) and Bill asked help in finding someone from the transcriptomics branch. Depending on how the branches are doing, I may ask for more volunteers later. Sending to the newer obi-txcomm list. BTW, why specifically is this branch in need of someone from Transcriptomics? In the first round of assigning MO terms to ObiBranches, none have been assigned to the Function branch? Are there plans to annotate 'Function' in MAGEv2? Hi all, In preparation for our call this Thursday, April 5, 12pm edt, the file placing MO terms into various OBI branches has been posted: https://www.cbil.upenn.edu/obiwiki/index.php/TranscriptomicsCommunity The agenda for the call is to identify which branches unassigned terms should be submitted to, identify people to serve as a point of contact for terms and confirm that we agree as a community with the current assignment of terms. Also not clear where to propose terms related to grouping entities, e.g. ArrayGroup. Perhaps this is a kind of object_fiat_part, but if so I don't think that there is an ObiBranch other than 'core' to propose to and no one is handling extensions from the core. I have gone through about 3/4 of the MO terms WRT to placement in ObiBranches. There are some groups of terms that I am not sure where to place, such as terms for InitialTimePoint, Database resources, and terms for DataType. Do people have some suggestions as to which ObiBranch these terms should be proposed to? Trish |

Based on the call today, we will use the mo tab file to track terms being proposed to OBI. Addititional columns will be added to capture: -OBI branch name that the term fits into -the person responsible for the term -the OBI identifer(s) (to be added once the term is accepted by OBI or in the owl file) -a column for notes, e.g. if there are 2 OBI identifiers indicate why the term was split or if the term is not accepted by OBI to indicate why -OBI review status, e.g. assigned, submitted, accepted, not accepted A header row will also be added to the file :-) I will take a first stab at 1) marking up the file as to what terms have been submittted to which branches and who has agreed to take responsibility for those terms and 2) for those terms not yet submitted, assinging a branch for them to be sent to. I'll send out a marked up version of the file by Tuesday. Can we plan for another call to review the branch assignments and identify people to take responsibility for the terms for next Thursday, Mar.29 at 12pm EDT? Trish |

Hi not really, there are some specific terms that will be outside Mo and I was planning on mining these and I'll flag both for OBI and MO, no definitions though, do have context. I like the suggestion that the OBI.MO mapping should be simple, but we will need to repeat to keep track cheers Helen Trish Whetzel wrote: > Hi Helen, > > Are there specific requirements for AE of how the mapping of MO terms to > OBI terms is maintained? Great, that makes at least 3 of us. Another item to discuss along with organizing the work, I would propose. is to discuss what information to include as part of the 'abstract' information to include for the editor_reference property for these terms, i.e. the common part before the term is proposed to OBI. I gather that we are not in a rush for this information, but can add it to the queue of things to do.
