A client I am working with has the subject jar as part of a potential product. I need to examine the source code for it, to make sure there are no intellectual property concerns, but cannot locate it anywhere. Googling the filename gets zero hits.

The closest thing I've found is Open Business Engine v1.0. The binary for this package comprises many files, including 46 files in the lib/ directory. One of this lib files is called obe-core.jar. Comparing the contents of obe-1.0b1.jar and obe-core from (from v1.0) shows that obe-1.0b1.jar appears to be an early version of the obecore.jar from OBE (some common file names, but structure and class file sizes quite different, and the 1.0b1 jar is at least a year older than the earliest version on SourceForge).

The differences in structure and code size between obe-1.0b1.jar and obe-core.jar give me no confidence that their corresponding source code would be very similar. Even if they were similiar, it is not clear how one would isolate the source code that corresponds to obe-core.jar. I hope this reaches the author and that he may be able to shed some light on the contents of obe-1.0b1.jar.
