Hi fellow developers, First, I apologize if I should have waited for announcements from NV Access regarding Windows 10. Second, as a Windows Insider and one of the contributors to NVDA screen reader project, I can confirm that NVDA is indeed compatible with Windows 10 with caveats. For many users, please hold off until NVDA 2015.3 is released before upgrading to Windows 10. Here's what to expect for each snapshot branch users: * For official build users: You should wait until NVDA 2015.3 is released. Please wait for official confirmation from Mick and Jamie. * For developers using master snapshots: NVDA reads Start search results, announces Action Center toast notifications and has slightly easier time with switching apps (I found out last night that NVDA supports Snap Assist). * For those using next snapshots: in addition to master snapshots, NVDA includes basic support for Edge browser (ask Mick for more details), as well as controls based on edge (including slightly better support for Cortana). I'd like to take this time to request assistance with continued Windows 10 support, especially for fellow developers who'll remain as Windows Insiders with me and others: As Windows 10 will use continuous updating and thanks to Windows Insider program, it is now possible for some of us to code support for updated features before it goes out to the general public. Please help us Insiders by helping us test new features and write support for them in order to reduce burden for users when they upgrade to newer builds. Thank you. For those waiting for official confirmation, please wait for an official announcement from NV Access regarding Windows 10 support. Thanks, and have a nice rest of the week (and a smooth upgrade experience for those upgrading this week). Cheers, Joseph |
