Argument list too long error

I'm mounting an 80GB external drive via firewire. In the
finder, some of the folders and files show up but many
folders show up as zero kb files that disappear when clicked
on. In the terminal window "ls /Volumes/UNTITLED" lists all
the directory names. However "ls -l /Volumes/UNTITLED"
results in many "Argument list too long" errors. If I try to
switch to one of the bad directories I get the same error:
[daguerre:/Volumes/UNTITLED] ltaplin% cd MP3 <CR>
MP3: Argument list too long.
I get these errors with NTFS_1.0d1 & NTFS_1.0d2
Keep up the good work! My email address is
ltaplin(AT)hotmail.com

Can you post or send me your /var/log/system.log file after
reproducing this error? This error probably means there was
problem reading the directory entries.
Also, how many files do you have in these "bad" directories?
Thanks.
